Would They? Poem

If someone moved beside you

That you had never known,

Didn't know the things you've done,

Or the places you had gone.

They wanted to be your friend

And wanted to spend some time

Trying to get to know you

And learning what's on your mind.

Would they see a Christian

By the actions that you take,

By the habits that you have

And the words that you say?

Would they see a person with faith

Who really does believe

That all Christians go to heaven

And live eternally?

Would they see a thankful person

Who praises God each day

And thanks him for their blessings

He sends along their way?

Would they see a peace within you

When rain begins to pour

Because God is right beside you

And you know that he is Lord?

Would they see love in your heart

By the caring things you do?

By looking at the way you live,

Would they see God in you?
